Get fit. Sort out debt. Be more organised. Drink more responsibly. Nothing to see here, just the usual list of resolutions that will pave the pathway to Supermacs after a night of Jager bombs, resulting in an even more unfit, unorganised, broke, hungover shell of person waking up the next morning to two screaming toddlers. However, even after each resolution downfall I will vow to and convince myself that it did not count and start again. I like to think of myself as a forever optimist, and the beauty of resolutions is their paradoxically wonderful ability to make you feel so guilty but also determined to keep going! Whether we achieve all or just one, it is important to start each year with goals - sure how else would you know where you're going?
This time last year I was very sad to say goodbye to 2016. It definitely was my best year yet and is still the one to beat. However, as I sat curled up under a fleece blanket on New Year's Eve with what can only be described as man flu, I felt a bit bad for the ill feeling I had towards the past year. It actually was not too bad. There's a lot a good flick through your camera roll can do for the mindset. So with this positive outlook in tune, here's a little look at accomplishments of and aspirations for the past and coming year.
