This month I have been....
....READING: Oliver Jeffers books with Lola.
Tales of unlikely friendships, wishful adventures and heartfelt determination mixed with magical illustrations and sketchy print makes for bedtime joy for all!
....WATCHING: The Voice UK
My Dad and I share this reality show obsession - Strictly and The Voice being are favs. (He has been known to watch The Voice with his chair turned away from the TV on occasion #truefan) I am loving Olly Murs as a judge this year, and Sir Tom Jones will forever cause my heart to flutter.
....EATING: Jamie Oliver's Chicken and Chorizo Paella
For those who know me, they know that I married a chef for a reason - to survive!!! The extent of my culinary skills is reaching for the drawer of take away menus. Although my own Jamie is trying his best to teach me a few of the easier dishes, I still like to turn to the other Jamie in my life for some kitchen guidance at times - Jamie Oliver. This paella recipe is probably the only thing I can serve up that is edible and genuinely good. My favourite thing about Jamie Oliver's recipes is the 'lob it all in the pan'-ness of them al. It's a dish we all love, baby Sadie and all.
Find it here.
.... LISTENING TO: Van Morrison
'Real Real Gone' is now our favourite song to have a family boogie to on a Friday! His voice is just soulful perfection!
.... LAUGHING AT: memes a fellow mommy co-worker is sending me
I can relate to this one oh too well.
"We do not pull fur off the cat and eat it!" is yet another phrase I never thought I'd have to say."
This dad of twins is definitely worth a follow, he makes me LOL daily. You can find his hilarious tweets here.
...GOING TO: Donadea Forest, County Kildare
Although we have a bit of a bias view considering we were lucky enough to get married in Donadea Forest last year, it was always a very special place for me and my own family, and I think it always will be. The walk ways and scenery are stunning, and the cute and quirky cafe selling hot chocolate and treats with cosy cushions to sit on outside just adds to the atmosphere of this place. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
....LOVING LOLA: sharing her 'good ideas'
Lola: Mom I think getting a baby brother is a good idea.
Me: Oh really? Where would we get him?
Lola: We just need to go to the leg and arm shop and get some glue. We can make him five.. or six.
Me: OK, what would we call him?
Lola: Drop Dead Fred. It's perfect.
