Taking inspiration from my previous post, I set up a little heart hunt for Lola and Sadie to add some excitement to Valentine's Day - a simple, easy to set up, activity which saw lots of smiles, fun and muddy bottoms (the last part was just Sadie, she's still a bit wobbly!) Here is what I did...
What you need
What to do
Cut out red hearts from the card (enough for each letter of your child's name). Using the marker, write these letters on each heart and stick them around the garden using your tape or blue tac. Try to stick the hearts in easy to reach places depending on his/ her height.
How your little one does the hunt is up to you. Try to incorporate his/her interests. For example, Lola loves dressing up so she had to choose her favourite costume to hunt for hearts in (she chose Anna in Frozen as apparently "she is good at finding things.") I had rules too - Lola had to find the hearts in the correct order for her name, she loved this added challenge!
This would be a good activity to do for a birthday party also - Happy Hunting!!!
Dark wax is one of my favourite products to use from the Annie Sloan range. It can create such fabulous effects. Here is a short video on how to use and apply Annie Sloan's dark wax. Enjoy!
In my craft demos, I will be using a lot of Annie Sloan products, as I find them so easy to use, quick drying and there is no need for any prep work. The wax gives your piece durability. Here is a video to show you how to use clear wax which you will be using for most of the painted crafts in my demos.
